Terms and conditions

Last updated 2 October 2026 · In effect from 7 October 2026. Squarebox is a product of HYNO Technologies LLP ("Squarebox", "we", "us"). "You" means the business that opens a Squarebox account.

These are the terms for using Squarebox, our WhatsApp and Instagram CRM platform. Please read them; by creating an account you agree to them.

1. Licence and permitted use

1.1 We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Squarebox platform for your own internal business operations.

1.2 You agree not to distribute, lease, sublicense or share the platform with any third party; modify, decompile or reverse-engineer it; or use it for any unlawful purpose, including breaches of data-protection, consumer-protection or anti-spam law.

2. Fees and payment

2.1 Plans. Plan fees are as shown on our pricing page at the time of purchase. Plans are paid in advance, quarterly or yearly, from your Squarebox wallet.

2.2 Messages. Messages are charged per message at the rates on our pricing page and deducted from your wallet. Rates follow WhatsApp's own pricing and may change at WhatsApp's quarter boundaries; the current rates are always on the pricing page.

2.3 Wallet. You top up your wallet by UPI, card or net banking through our payment provider. Wallet balance is used for plan fees and message charges and is not refunded (see the Cancellation and refund policy).

2.4 Taxes. All fees exclude GST and any other applicable taxes, which are added at the prevailing rate. We email a GST receipt for every payment.

2.5 Free trial. New accounts get a 14-day free trial of the Business plan with starter credit on a shared trial number. No card or payment is needed. When the trial ends, your plan starts from your wallet balance. To keep it running, top up your wallet before the trial ends; if the balance does not cover the plan, see 2.6.

2.6 Grace period. If your wallet doesn't have enough balance when a plan renews, sending is paused for 5 days so you can top up, and your inbox stays open. If it isn't topped up within those 5 days, the account is paused until you top up: sign-in is blocked, so write to us at [email protected]. Your data is kept. Messages are sent only while the wallet has balance to pay for them.

3. Term, renewal and ending the agreement

3.1 These terms apply from the day you create an account and for as long as you have one.

3.2 Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, charged from your wallet. To stop renewal, write to us at [email protected] before the period ends; the current period runs to its end. Squarebox does not give refunds (see the Cancellation and refund policy).

3.3 Either party may end this agreement if the other fails to remedy a material breach within 30 days of written notice. We may suspend or end an account that breaches §4 without notice where the breach puts our WhatsApp or Instagram access at risk.

3.4 When the agreement ends, your access stops and we delete or return your data as described in the Privacy policy.

4. Acceptable use of WhatsApp and Instagram

4.1 You will use the platform in line with WhatsApp's Business Messaging Policy and Commerce Policy and Meta's platform terms, as they stand from time to time.

4.2 You will message only people who have given you their number and agreed to receive messages from your business, and you will honour opt-outs.

4.3 You are responsible for the content of your messages and templates, for the accuracy of any advertisement you send, and for complying with the law that applies to your business.

4.4 Meta may restrict or close a WhatsApp Business account that breaches its policies; Squarebox is not responsible for restrictions Meta applies to your account.

5. Confidentiality

5.1 All non-public, proprietary information shared between the parties is confidential.

5.2 Each party will use reasonable care to protect the other's confidential information and use it only to perform this agreement.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Squarebox's aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Warranties and disclaimers

Squarebox warrants that the platform will perform substantially as described in our documentation. Otherwise the platform is provided "as is", with all implied warranties disclaimed. WhatsApp and Instagram are provided by Meta, and their availability is outside our control.

8. Dispute resolution

8.1 We encourage resolving disputes through good-faith negotiation.

8.2 A dispute not resolved within 30 days may be referred to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, seated in Hyderabad, with proceedings in English.

9. Changes to these terms and to pricing

We may update these terms. Pricing changes appear on the pricing page. We notify you of significant changes that affect your use of the platform.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of India.

11. Force majeure

Squarebox is not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our control, including natural disasters, terrorism or government action.
